Vancouver Whitecaps acquired Chilean soccer player Pedro Morales on February 28 2014. This 29-year-old footballer plays as an attacking midfielder for the club. Morales began his professional career with Chilean club Huachipato and signed a five-year contract with GNK Dinamo Zagreb on June 11 2008. After a first season of average performances, in his second season with the club he established himself as one of its main players. On June 11 2013 he signed a two-year contract with Malaga.
7) Obafemi Martins, Seattle Sounders ($1.75 million)
Obafemi Martins signed with Seattle Sounders FC as a designated player after the club paid a $4 million buyout clause in the player’s contract with Levante in 2013. This Nigerian soccer player signed a new three-year contract extension with Seattle Sounders on October 24 2013, nearly doubling his annual salary amounting to more than $3 million.
