It took nearly seven years for Bill Gates to custom-build the 66,000 square foot Xanadu 2.0, a modern-yet-rustic high-tech estate valued at $125.5 million. Gates had bought the property in 1998 for $14 million.

10) Hala Ranch – $135 Million

Located just north of Aspen, Colorado, the Hala Ranch is a 95-acre estate that was listed at $135 million. According to the Wall Street Journal, hedge fund mogul John Paulson bought the ranch for $49 million. The home covers a 56,000 square foot area.

9) Beverly House – $135 Million (2014)

Beverly House, which is located three blocks from Sunset Boulevard, was valued at $135 million in 2014. It is on six flat acres of land and includes Italian and Spanish style H-shaped main house and a slew of smaller homes.
