7) Faisal Mosque, Islamabad (Pakistan)
This beautiful mosque is shaped like a desert Bedouin’s tent. Its architecture is modern and unique. It has a large triangular prayer hall and four minarets. The minarets are thin and pencil-like, and are inspired by Turkish architecture. It was built in 1986.
8) Suleymaniye Mosque, Istanbul (Turkey)
This Ottoman Imperial mosque is the largest mosque in Istanbul. It is preceded by a monumental courtyard on its west side. The courtyard is of exceptional grandeur, with columns of granite, marble and porphyry.
