The referee board is the most utilitarian object in a football field. Reputed Swiss watch brand Hublot has given the referee board a really cool design overhaul for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Hublot is the official time keeper of 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Thanks to Hublot, the referee board used by the fourth official on the ground to display extra time and player’s substitution will never be the same again. The usual flat and square design has made way to a design similar to that of the brand’s distinctive watches.
The new design has maintained the technical specifications of the old board, but has better ergonomic grip and polished aesthetics. It is not only useful now, but also attractive to look at. The brand had its presence right at the center of action during the inaugural game between Croatia and Brazil.
“It is an immense honor and privilege for Hublot to have been given the opportunity to optimize the referee’s board of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The joint effort comes as a part of a long-term relationship which Hublot has developed with FIFA. It has given rise to an object with an innovative design”, said Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot.
The new board looks cool and has added to the beauty of the event.
