Recently a Swiss court ordered Dmitry Rybolovlev, a Russian billionaire to pay around 4.5 billion dollars to his ex wife Elena. This could very well be the most expensive divorce settlement in the world, according to Elena’s lawyer Mark Bonnant. The couple married in 1987; and has two daughters: Anna and Ekaterina.
In the order, the court has ruled that Dmitry has to pay $4,509,375,184 to settle the claims. Dmitry is the owner of AS Monaco, a French soccer club. He is ranked 147th by Forbes in its list of billionaires.
Elena can claim ownership of property worth $146 million in Gstaad, Switzerland. Dmitry and Elena own chalets in Gstaad, Switzerland. Elena may claim one of these. In fact Elena had demanded $6 billion as divorce claims. The proceedings are going on since 2008. At that time, Dmitry’s worth was $12.8 billion. Today he is worth 8.8 billion dollars.
Born in 1966 in Perm, Dmitry was awarded the Order of St. Seraphim of Sarov I degree by Patriarch Kirill for funding the restoration of the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Moscow Zachatievsky Monastery. According to sources close to him, he was not a model husband. He never denied his infidelities.
