2) Carlo Ancelotti – £11.4-million
The world’s second highest paid football manager, and also one of the most experienced and successful currently in the business. Last season was his first at Real Madrid and he did not disappoint the board or fans, with the capital club finally clinching La Decima with a 4-1 Champions League final victory over Atletico Madrid. The trophy also meant that Ancelotti is one of only two managers to win the Champions League or European Cup three times as a manager. Ancelotti will be used to the enormous wages he receives at Madrid, his previous two jobs were at mega rich Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
1) Jose Mourinho – £13.2-million
Only one man was ever going to top this list. Whilst it was no secret Mourinho wanted to be reunited with Chelsea, it has still cost the London club a hefty amount in wages. The ‘Special One’ earns £13.2-million a year, which breaks down to £1.1-million a month and over £250,000 a week. By Mourinho’s own very high standards his first season back at Stamford Bridge will have disappointed him, with the team failing to win a trophy. He has already rectified that this season however, with Chelsea winning the Capital One Cup and Premier League. If the team continue to play the way they have this season, Mourinho will top this list for many years to come.
