They say the music industry is slowly fading because offline sales of tapes and CDs are being replaced with online software. That seems to be not the case for some of the top earning music artists. Billboards list of highest paid music artists includes country music artists, hip-hop artists, and a whole lot of rock n’ roll bands.
Here are the top earning music artists of 2013, according to Billboard:
Taylor Swift – $39.6 million
Country music artist turned pop tops the list earning $39,699,575 in 2013. The 23-year-old music superstar made it big in physical and digital touring, branding, merchandising, and sponsorship. She also ranks eighth in Billboard’s list of Money Makers. In the digital download platform, she ranks sixth with 10 million downloads.

Kenny Chesney – $32.9 million
Country music artist Kenny Chesney earned $32,956,240 in 2013. At the age of 45, he is still one of the consistent top earning music artists in America. He earned a lot in his touring, but his “Life in a Rock” Album released in 2013 brought in majority of his hefty profit.
