This BEV sports car was manufactured by Tesla between 2008 and 2012. It is the first highway-capable all-electric vehicle in the serial production for sale in the US. Since 2008 the company has sold more than 2,400 Roadsters in 31 nations through September 2012. Most of the remaining vehicles were sold in Asia and Europe during the last quarter of 2012. The base price of the car in the US was $109,000 in the year 2010.
Folks at Al and Ed’s Auto Sound in West Hollywood transformed a factory 2009 Tesla Roadster into a bespoke sound beast. Al and Ed’s Auto Sound specializes in custom stereo upgrades.
The vehicle was displayed at the basement of the LA Auto Show. Upgrades included a Focal Utopia sound system ($12,000) and a 600W hidden amplifier. The speakers cost $6,000. All the work that went into the vehicle amounted to $50,000. Making it the most expensive Tesla Roadster at $160,000.
