Danica Patrick – Nascar
Patrick has earned her way to becoming the face of women in NASCAR, and we have no complaints about it! On top of being the 2005 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the year, Patrick was the first woman to lead the race, as well as the first woman to win an IndyCar Series race. She has also become involved in modelling, brand endorsement, and she has written an autobiography. She expects to release a second book in the near future.
Michelle Jenneke – Hurdler
The Australian hurdler caught the attention of the public after a video of her dancing during race warm-up went viral. As media outlets helped spread Jenneke’s brand, she became known as the “Dancing Hurdler”. According to her website, she is currently enrolled in a Mechatronic Engineering degree at the University of Sydney on an athletic scholarship.
Skylar Diggins – Basketball
Diggins is a WNBA point guard for the Dallas Wings. Playing college basketball at Notre Dame, she succeeded in winning the Nancy Lieberman Award for the top point guard in the nation in both 2012 and 2013. In the WNBA, she was named an All-Star in 2014. Since suffering an ACL injury in 2015, Diggins has returned to play, signing a multi-year extension to her contract. The Dallas Wings General Manager Greg Bibb released a statement calling Diggins “a cornerstone of [the] franchise”.
Eugenie Bouchard – Tennis
Bouchard is a Canadian Tennis player who is currently ranked 53rd in the world amongst women. After finding success in the tennis world, and representing her country on the world stage, Bouchard found herself in the public eye, garnering endorsement deals with companies such as Coca-Cola and Nike. Recently, she was featured as one of the athletes in 2017 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
Allison Stokke – Pole Vault
Stokke is another athlete who found internet fame after photos of her competing at the age of 17 surfaced on several sports blogs. Stokke notably discouraged media attention, trying to avoid any undermining of her athletic achievements. A feature for ESPN titled “Allison Stokke doesn’t want to be your sex symbol” details the difficulties Stokke has faced being forced into the public eye at such a young age.
Alex Morgan – Soccer
Ranked as the top paid American women’s soccer player, Morgan has achieved a successful career both on and off the field. Morgan has signed endorsement deals with several major companies including Nike, AT&T, and Coca-Cola. In addition, she has written a series of children’s books and was one of the first female athletes to be featured on the cover of FIFA—EA Sports’ popular soccer video game.
Winifer Fernandez – Volleyball
Fernandez is a Dominican volleyball player currently with her club team, Mirador, in Santa Domingo, DR. Another athlete who garnered attention from the internet due to her breathtaking looks, Fernandez’s sports achievements are not to be overlooked. Winning multiple awards for “Best Digger”, “Best Libero” and “Most Valuable Player” over her career, she also played for her national team in 2016, winning the U23 Pan-American Cup.
