Pininfarina Sergio Roadster is a radical Ferrari concept that made its debut in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show. It was made as a tribute to the legendary Italian designer Pininfarina Sergio.
Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio was behind the designs of many amazing Ferrari models. In 1965, he personally persuaded Enzo Ferrari to adopt a mid-sized engine configuration for a new line of road cars, with the engine positioned behind the driver, but ahead of the rear wheels. The resulting Ferrari Dino Berlinette Speciale was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1965.
Pininfarina Sergio Roadster is not like any other extreme concept that is manufactured just to display at different auto shows. The Ferrari bosses have approved its production.
The Italian company has announced that it has approved the manufacture of six Pininfarina Sergio Roadsters. However, Ferrari will not be making the cars; Pininfarina will be doing the job.
The vehicle will be based on the Ferrari 458, which will be used as a donor car. Mechanical components, electrical components and all the structural components will be from Ferrari 458. Pininfarina will be doing the coachwork.
The vehicle would be a fully functional car. It would be a completely road-legal roaster. As of now, no one is aware of the price. Some experts speculate it to be more than $2 million.
