Rapper, record producer and entrepreneur Jay Z is one of the most financially successful hip-hop artists and entrepreneurs in the world. He has excellent business acumen. He is a minority owner of NBA’s Brooklyn Nets. He sold his clothing line Rocawear for $204 million in 2007 and signed a $150 million collaboration with Live Nation in 2008 through his Roc Nation entertainment company. Jay-Z is also a fully-qualified sports agent under the sports branch of Roc Nation (Roc Nation Sports).

    In the beginning of this article it states that Oprah Winfrey is the only African Ameri an billionaire. At the end of the article it lists Michael Jordan as a Billionaire also. Am I missing something? By your own article you admit to two so Oprah can’t be the only one, smdh.

      For real tho. My brothers and sisters need to start focusing on more lucrative fields like computer science, the stock market, and real estate instead of just looking for a rap/sports career and settling for a quick million.

        Many professions are not as lucrative as the instant gratification of working the entertainment spotlight, but I agree. There were so many creative and innovative Black American inventors in decades past. I wish that would come back.
