#4. Superyacht A – $323 million
Although, relatively small (14 guests, 43 staff limit), it was relatively expensive as well… The Superyacht A was designed by Philippe Starck, this yacht is owned by Russian oligarch Andrey Melnichenko. No expense was spared, with the bath faucets worth a staggering $40,000 and the staircase banisters worth a further $60,000. Furthermore, the bed has a controller allowing it to be rotated to capture the perfect view for sunrise and sunset. Melnichenko is currently suing the Dutch paint corporation Akzo Nobel, as the yacht’s paint is not as reflective as had been stipulated in the design.
#3. Dubai – $350 million
Built for princes and sheiks, the Dubai yacht has been called a floating city with its huge seven decks, a helipad, squash room, a small submarine, swimming pool, spa and basically anything a person would desire.
This yacht is currently owned by the Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh of the emirate of Dubai. When it was launched by Blohm + Voss in 2006 it was the most expensive yacht in the world. It is the third-largest private yacht in the world at 524 feet.
